Okay, so initially I wanted to make a lengthy post about the Top 10 books on my 2024 TBR… But realistically, there is no way in hell I’m going to read 10 books leisurely this year with two small children running around. π So we’re going to go with a top 3!
I’m a HUGE mood reader. Huge, huge, huge. So making TBR posts is always hit or miss for me. I especially love looking back at my lofty TBR goal posts on social media at the end of the year and realizing that I read maybe one thing off the TBR I planned on setting, ha! Maybe one day I’ll learn. π
So here are the Top 3 Books I’m excited to read in 2024 (hopefully)…

You, with a View by Jessica Joyce
“Noelle Shepard is unemployed, living with her parents, and grieving the loss of her beloved grandmother when she discovers decades-old photos of Gram and a smitten man, tucked alongside a love letter. She creates a TikTok to search for the mystery man, which goes viral, and she’s shocked when his grandson responds – a man who happens to be her high school nemesis, Theo Spencer.
Noelle refuses to let Theo’s annoying accomplishments in adulthood – or his sexy smirk – stand in the way of meeting his grandfather and unlocking the secrets he knew about her gram as a young woman. When she learns that their plans to elope were thwarted, Noelle decides to take the honeymoon road trip they planned but never got to carry out. There’s a catch though: Paul, Theo’s grandfather, asks to come with her, and he insists that Theo join them.
It’ll be a miracle if they make it through the trip without Noelle throwing Theo out of the moving car -βor the bed they end up sharing. As the miles tick by, the tension simmers hotter between them…until she discovers that Theo’s hiding a secret that could cause their tenuous relationship to end before it can restart.”

The Assassin Bride by Anastasis Blythe
“It is said that the Neverseen King comes for a bride every hundred years. I thought it was only legend…until he came for me.
I am one of twelve assassins forced to compete for the hand of our unseen king, who I’m beginning to doubt is even human at all.
Why he needs a bride, much less one who wields a blade, isn’t any of my business. All I’m trying to do is get out of here with my life and my heart intact. I don’t want to care about the mysteries I begin uncovering about the king, about why he never shows his face, about his palace that turns into a nightmare after dusk. I’m just trying to escape. But apparently, my choice is to win this competition or die.
I’m not dying.
And I’m definitely not falling in love with the Neverseen King.”

So This is Ever After by F.T. Lukens
“Arek hadn’t thought much about what would happen after he completed the prophecy that said he was destined to save the Kingdom of Ere from its evil ruler. So now that he’s finally managed to (somewhat clumsily) behead the king, he and his ragtag group of quest companions aren’t sure what to do next. As a temporary safeguard, Arek’s best friend and mage, Matt, convinces him to assume the throne until the true heir can be rescued from her tower. Except that she’s dead. Now Arek is stuck as king, a role that comes with a magical catch: choose a soul mate by your eighteenth birthday, or wither away into nothing.
With his eighteenth birthday only three months away, and only Matt in on the secret, Arek embarks on a desperate bid to find a spouse to save his life – starting with his quest companions. But his attempts at wooing his friends go painfully and hilariously wrong…until he discovers that love might have been in front of him all along.”
It’s kind of fun that all of them have pretty purpley covers π
What are some books on your TBR that you’re excited about this year? Or are you as big a mood reader as I am and plan on just going with the flow? π
