In which I’m a bit behind schedule, but I talk about all the books I read in 2025!

In 2025, I set a goal of reading 15 books because I really wanted to focus on reading again. Between editing fiction for my then-day-job and also running around with two toddlers, I’d really slacked off on my reading and wanted to make it a priority. More books, less doom scrolling, right? ๐Ÿ™‚

So consider myself STOKED when I wound up reading not 15 but 18 books! And on top of that, reading books that I WANTED to read instead of forcing myself to read genres I wasn’t interested in or keep pushing through books I wanted to DNF.

So what books did I read? Let’s chat about them!

My list of 2025 Books:

The Pairing by Casey McQuiston

Lost Stars by Claudia Gray

Love & Other Disasters by Anita Kelly

Sing Anyways by Anita Kelly

Our Favorite Songs by Anita Kelly

Wherever Is Your Heart by Anita Kelly

The Art of Catching Feelings by Alicia Thompson

Flirty Dancing by Jennifer Moffatt

And They Were Roommates by Page Powars

Anxious People by Fredrik Backman

A Love Most Fatal by Kath Richards

If This Gets Out by Sophie Gonzales and Cale Dietrich

Donut Summer by Anita Kelly

Cloudy with a Chance of Bad Decisions by Fae Quinn

Ponyboy by Eliot Duncan

A Love Most Brutal by Kath Richards

Collide by Bal Khabra

Spiral by Bal Khabra

If you can’t tell based on the list, 2025 was definitely the year of romance novels. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I fully embraced my desire to read more romance books, got introduced to the sports romance genre, got to support many LGBTQ+ romance authors, AND officially got set up as a reviewer on NetGalley, something I’ve wanted to do for a long time! Not only that, but I got to meet Kath Richards at two of her local author events here in Utah, and I just adore her so much! Pics below ๐Ÿ™‚

My favorites of 2025 were The Pairing by Casey McQuiston (I genuinely think about this book a minimum of once a month. I’m obsessed and can’t wait to read it again!), And They Were Roommates by Page Powars (this was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and I was so grateful to get to read an advance reader copy of it!), A Love Most Fatal by Kath Richards (mafia romcom where the woman is the mafia boss? Yes please!), and Spiral by Bal Khabra (selfishly because these two characters remind me of mine and my friend’s characters, and there were so many soft moments that had me squealing and kicking my feet!). I also want to shout out Anita Kelly’s books for not only getting me through 5 hours of my 6-hour tattoo session, but also a long layover in the airport! Absolutely fantastic reads *chefs kiss*

In 2026, I’ve lowered my reading goal to 12 books – an average of one a month. If you aren’t a follower of my social media, I’m going through several big life changes, including starting a new day job, so my reading time is far more limited. Still, I’d love to prioritize reading in my free evenings, and I’d love to read more romance books! Romance novels are my current happy place because there are guaranteed happily ever afters (at least in the genres I read), and right now, my heart needs a lot of those. โค

What books are you excited to read in 2026? I’d love to hear all about them and add to my TBR!
