Rough Draft Critique:
This is a big-picture edit for the rough draft of your novel. I will read through your manuscript once and will provide general thoughts and comments on the story. This is an important first step to making sure your story has a good base to build on.
Base rate (40,000 words or less) = $20
More than 40,000 words = $0.50 per 1,000 words
Example: a 60,000 word manuscript would cost $30 (60,000 x $0.50), but a 20,000 word manuscript would cost the base rate of $20
My proofreading package is combing through your novel to tighten up grammar and sentence structure issues. It’s a line-by-line cleanup of your story.
Base rate (40,000 words or less) = $40
40,000 – 99,000 words = $1 per 1,000 words
More than 100,000 words = $100 + $0.75 per additional 1,000 words
Example: a 60,000 word manuscript would cost $60 (60,000 x $1), but a 20,000 word manuscript would cost the base rate of $40. A 110,000 word manuscript would cost $107.50 ($100 + 10,000 x $0.75 = $107.50)
A developmental edit is a more in-depth look into your manuscript to take it to the next level. I will read through your book twice and make notes on your characters, setting, plot, and how well the story flows. You will receive multiple notes on every single aspect of your story, and I’ll include an overview at the end of each chapter. I’ll also provide final thoughts and suggestions at the end of the book. This will help you figure out what works and what doesn’t in your story, as well as if your characters need to be fleshed out better, if your story world needs more (or less) detail, if there are any plot holes that need repairing, and how the pacing of your story events works in the grand scheme of things.
Base rate (40,000 words or less) = $80
40,000 – 99,000 words = $2 per 1,000 words
More than 100,000 words = $200 + $1.50 per additional 1,000 words
Example: a 60,000 word manuscript would cost $120 (60,000 x $2), but a 20,000 word manuscript would cost the base rate of $80. A 110,000 word manuscript would cost $215 ($200 + 10,000 x $1.50 = $215)
*If you do an initial developmental edit with me and decide you’d like another one after you revise your manuscript, I will be willing to read through the book a third time for $50.
A Line Edit (aka Copy Edit) is my most in-depth package. It’s the equivalent of a Proofread and a Developmental Edit rolled into one. I’ll give line-by-line thoughts and edits on your entire novel.
Base rate (40,000 words or less) = $100
40,000 – 99,000 words = $2.50 per 1,000 words
More than 100,000 words = $250 + $2 per additional 1,000 words
Example: a 60,000 word manuscript would cost $150 (60,000 x $2.50), but a 20,000 word manuscript would cost the base rate of $100. A 110,000 word manuscript would cost $270 ($250 + 10,000 x $2 = $220)
Note: 50% of project price is due up-front and non-refundable, with the remainder due when I return the edits to you.

“A special thanks to Savanna for editing and formatting my writing project. Not only was she responsive to my time frame and what I needed, but she completed the project earlier than expected. She kept me up to date on each step of the process, which makes for a trusting relationship. I would highly recommend her for any editing project.” -C
