Warning: my cursive is messy and one of my m’s has an extra line (sorry, mom 😂). • • Recently I’ve been reading many business, indie publishing, and self-marketing books. I’ve been filled with new ideas. I’ve been challenged to go outside my comfort zone. But at the end of the day, doubt crept in. “Nobody will take me seriously.” “I’m too young to try this.” “What if people reject me?” • • When dealing with doubt, I turned to the creatives to see how they deal with it. Some listen to uplifting podcasts or have a Pump-Up music playlist. Others go to therapy or have a group they can discuss their doubts in. Yet others write out their why — why they chose their creative path. And yet others write down positive affirmations to tell themselves when they feel stuck. I used to think I didn’t need any of those, but with God continuing to push me out of my comfort zone, I realized I needed something to remind me that I am strong. #AdventuresinParkCity: Babysitting two very athletic kids means I get to travel all over Park City with them. This trip led me to soccer tryouts at a park that’s in a little valley surrounded on all sides by mountains. While spring/summer is continuing to try to gain a clutch on this part of the US, you can still see little bits of snow on the mountain peaks. While watching the soccer tryouts commence, a storm began to move over the mountains, the clouds flickering every now and again with electricity. The tryouts continued, the participants hoping the storm would simply pass on by. But then it happened — my favorite part just before a storm hits. The temperature abruptly dropped, the wind picked up, and a crack of thunder echoed through the valley. A thrill rushed through me, causing me to shiver in anticipation. The kiddos were disappointed because the soccer tryouts were postponed until the weather passed. I was reminded of God’s beauty and power.
