Writing Update

Happy Saturday, friends! Thank you so much for sticking with me as I navigate this new blog schedule with all of the upcoming changes in my life. It means a lot to me that you guys are so supportive and want to stick around. ❤

I’m super excited to share a writing update with you guys after so long! The past couple of months, it felt like I didn’t have much worth sharing, as I was knee-deep in the editing trenches. However, the end is in sight for Tales of Nottingham book 2, and I’m stoked to share a little bit more about that with you!!!

I share this quote from Pinterest because it seems to fit both Marion’s journey in THIEF and then Robin Hood’s journey in book 2 so well. Both have worn masks for so long for different reasons, and these first two books in the trilogy chronicle their wrestling with taking them off; thus exposing who they really are and who they long to be. Being the authentic you is a theme that I love to explore in my books, and the Tales of Nottingham trilogy was no exception. I hope it inspires a lot of my young adult readers to accept themselves for who they are.

As I wrap up the grammar pass-through of edits before I hand book 2 off to my amazing beta reader team, there’s still so much to do that I need to stay on top of. One of the biggest things is actually writing the synopsis for this story. Because I don’t have it officially pegged down yet, there’s not a ton I can share about book 2 just yet. 😦 BUT, what are some things that I’m excited about…?

-Mercenaries.

-Reuniting Robin and Marion after their parting in THIEF.

-Tuck taking care of his chickens and being a very soft boi in general. (#ProtectTuck *winks*)

-Ambrosia has the most KILLER line that I can’t wait to share with you on social media!

-Tea made a big appearance in this book, as it’s Marion’s favorite, and I’ve enjoyed consuming copious amounts of tea while writing about it too. 😉

-Allan Dale, a new character. I can’t wait for you to meet him!

-There’s a cameo by none other than…Peter Pan!!!

-And, there are new realms that you get to sneak a peek of in book 2, such as Cinder Castle:

And if you’re interested in seeing more Pinterest inspiration, I actually have a Pinterest board for the series that you can look at! Here’s the link: https://www.pinterest.com/booksbysr/tales-of-nottingham/

All in all, there are some exciting things in the works for book 2, and I can’t wait to take you guys on this journey with me! There will be some exciting announcements coming your way in October on social media, so if you aren’t following me on Facebook or Instagram (@booksbysr) or if you’re not signed up for my monthly newsletter (https://atomic-temporary-148996782.wpcomstaging.com/newsletter/ ), I highly recommend doing so, so you don’t miss out!

If you’re a writer, how are your projects coming? Or if you’re a reader, what’s your favorite book that you’ve read this year? Looking forward to hearing from you guys!
